Import files from Adobe Frame.io

On the Pro plan, open Add asset, connect Adobe Frame.io from Add new source, browse to your files, select them, and click Add.

Import from Adobe Frame.io

You can browse your Adobe Frame.io projects inside Pactto and import videos, images, and PDFs into a room. Pactto copies each file into the room, so the files stay even if you disconnect Frame.io. You need Can edit access (or be the room owner). Frame.io is part of the Pro plan.

Connect Frame.io (first time only)

  1. Click Add asset in the toolbar, or press 1.
  2. In the sidebar of the Add assets dialog, click Add new source.
  3. Click Adobe Frame.io. An Adobe sign-in window opens.
  4. Sign in and allow access.
  5. Adobe Frame.io appears in the sidebar and its contents load. The connection is saved to your account.

If your plan does not include integrations, the source shows a Pro label, and clicking it opens the plan options instead of connecting. If the sign-in window does not open, allow pop-ups for Pactto and try again.

Browse and import

  1. Open Add asset (or press 1) and select Adobe Frame.io in the sidebar.
  2. Click through your accounts, workspaces, projects, and folders. The path at the top (starting at Accounts) shows where you are; click any part of it to go back.
  3. Each file shows Name, Owner, Modified, and Size.
  4. Select files:
    • Click a file to select only that file.
    • Cmd+click (Mac) or Ctrl+click (Windows) to add a file to the selection or remove it.
    • Or tick the checkbox next to each file.
  5. Click Add. The button shows "Importing..." or "Importing 2 of 5...".
  6. When the import finishes, the files appear on the canvas. Two or more files are laid out in a grid and selected together.

You can close the dialog during an import. The import continues and its progress moves to a message at the bottom of the screen. You can select only videos, images, and PDFs. Folders open when you click them, but you cannot import a whole folder at once.

Disconnect Frame.io

  1. In the Add assets sidebar, click the disconnect icon next to Adobe Frame.io.
  2. In Disconnect Adobe Frame.io?, click Disconnect.

Files you already imported stay in the room.

If something goes wrong

  • "Adobe Frame.io is part of the Pro plan": you connected Frame.io before your plan changed. The connection is kept, but you need the Pro plan to browse it again.
  • "Connection error. Please try reconnecting.": click Try again to sign in to Adobe again.
  • "Could not load content. Check your connection and try again.": Pactto could not reach Frame.io. Click Try again.
  • "Failed to import "file name". Please try again.": Pactto skipped that file and still imported the others.
  • "No items found": the folder has no files.

Good to know

  • You can also use the Frame.io connection with Replace image. You can then select only images, and the button reads Replace.
