Zoom in on an item in focus mode
In focus mode, hold Cmd (Ctrl on Windows) and scroll, or pinch on a touch screen, to zoom into an image, PDF, video or screen share; drag to move around and click Reset zoom to go back.
What it does
While an image, PDF, video or screen share is open in focus mode, you can zoom into it to see details, such as small print in a PDF or part of an image. Only the item zooms; the rest of the screen stays the same.
Who can do it: everyone in the room.
Zoom in and out
- Open the item in focus mode (see Focus on one item or board), or present a board.
- Zoom:
- On a computer: hold Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) and scroll the mouse wheel or trackpad over the item. The point under the pointer stays in place.
- On a touch screen: pinch with two fingers.
- When the item is zoomed in, a small control appears at its top right corner with Reset zoom, Zoom out, the current percentage and Zoom in.
- Drag the item to move around while it is zoomed in.
Go back to normal size
- Click Reset zoom, or zoom out until the item fits again. The control disappears when the item is back to its normal size.
- Zoom also resets when you leave focus mode or move to another item or slide.
Good to know
- Scrolling without Cmd or Ctrl still scrolls a PDF or document as usual.
- While zoomed in, dragging moves the view, so drawing and commenting on the item are paused until you reset the zoom.
- Only one item can be zoomed at a time, and the zoom is not saved.
- Your zoom is private, with one exception: if you are the spotlight, people following you who have the same item open see the same zoom, and for PDFs the same scroll position. See Spotlight your view.
