Follow a screen share when one or more people present
When someone shares their screen you are asked Follow {name}'s screen share?; click Follow, or click their camera tile with the yellow Presenting badge, to view their screen full size. Several people can share at once.
How it works
Anyone in the room can share their screen, and several people can share at the same time. Each shared screen appears on the canvas, and each person sharing is a presenter on their own. Sharing a screen does not start Spotlight: every viewer chooses which screen to watch.
To start sharing, see Share your screen.
See who is presenting
- A presenter's camera tile has a yellow border and a yellow Presenting badge on its bottom edge.
- If their camera is off, their small tile shows the yellow border and a screen icon.
- When a presenter is also speaking, the border turns white while they talk.
Follow a presenter
When someone starts sharing, you see Follow {name}'s screen share? with a live preview of their screen.
- Click Follow {name}. Your view opens their shared screen in focus mode, full size.
- Or click Stay where I am to keep your view.
If several people start sharing, these windows appear one at a time.
You can also, at any time:
- Click the camera tile of a person with the Presenting badge (tooltip Click to see {name}'s shared screen) to open their screen.
- If you are sharing and left your own screen view, click your own tile (tooltip Click to focus your screen share) to go back to it.
Stop watching
Press Escape or click Exit focus mode at the top left. If the presenter stops sharing while you are watching, you return to the canvas.
Good to know
- Following a screen share only changes your own view; it does not move anyone else.
- To lead everyone through the canvas or a board instead, use Spotlight and Present in a room.
- Sharing your screen is only available on a computer, not on phones or tablets (including iPad). You can still watch other people's screens from those devices.
