Help / Rooms and meetings
Mute other participants
If you are the room owner or an editor, open Room members from the avatars at the top right and click Mute next to a person or Mute all, or click the microphone badge on someone's camera tile.
Mute someone else
The room owner and editors (people with Can edit) can mute other people who are online. Reviewers and viewers can see who is muted but cannot mute anyone. Only the muted person can unmute themselves.
See who is in the room
- In the bar at the top right, click the avatar and counter next to the Share button.
- Room members opens with two sections: Online and Offline. Click a section header to expand or collapse it.
- Each person shows their name and email (or Guest). The room owner is labeled Owner. The microphone icon in each row shows whether that person is muted.
Mute one person
From the member list:
- Open Room members.
- In the Online section, click the microphone button next to the person (Mute).
From the camera tiles (on a computer):
- Find the person's camera tile.
- Click the microphone badge in its top right corner (Mute followed by their name). Once they are muted, the badge reads that they are muted and cannot be clicked.
Mute everyone
- Open Room members.
- Click the microphone button at the top of the panel (Mute all).
There is no confirmation step. Everyone online except you is muted.
What the muted person sees
- A You have been muted message.
- Their microphone button switches to off, and their tile shows the muted icon.
- To talk again, they click their own microphone button or press M.
Good to know
- You cannot unmute another person. There is no "unmute all".
- Mute buttons appear only for people who are online, and not on your own row.
- The microphone badge on tiles is hidden on phones and while tiles are shrunk during focus mode.
- People who joined without any microphone are not affected.
