Help / Canvas

Draw freehand on the canvas

Click Draw (P) in the toolbar, pick a color and pen thickness from the menu that opens, and draw on the canvas; press E for the eraser.

Draw on the canvas

The Draw tool is a freehand pen. Drawings stay on the canvas and everyone in the room sees them. To point at something without leaving a mark, use the laser pointer instead.

Steps

  1. Click Draw in the toolbar or press P.
  2. A small menu opens just below the button. Pick a color, then one of the three thicknesses: Small pen thickness, Medium pen thickness or Large pen thickness.
  3. Drag on the canvas to draw. The Draw tool stays active, so you can keep drawing stroke after stroke.
  4. Press V (or click Select) when you are done.

The color and thickness you pick are used for your next strokes. Click anywhere outside the menu to close it.

Erase

  1. Press E to switch to the eraser (it has no toolbar button).
  2. Click or drag over the strokes you want to remove.
  3. Press V to go back to Select.

You can also select a drawing with Select and press Delete or Backspace.

Who can draw

Owner and Can edit members. Can review and Can view members do not see the Draw tool.

Good to know:

  • Switching to Draw clears your current selection, so pick the color and thickness before you start a new drawing.
  • Undo a stroke with Cmd/Ctrl + Z.
  • For straight lines, arrows, rectangles and circles, use the shape tools instead (see shapes-and-arrows).
