# Add, format and resize sticky notes

> Press N (or click Sticky note) to drop a yellow sticky note in the middle of your view, type right away, then select it to change its font, size and style or drag its corners to resize it.

## Add a sticky note

1. Click **Sticky note** in the toolbar or press **N**.
2. A yellow note appears in the middle of your view with the cursor already inside it. Text starts at the top left of the note.
3. Type your text. Click outside the note when you are done.

To edit a note later, double-click it.

## Format a note

Select a note and a bar appears above it:

| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Font** | **Draw**, **Sans**, **Serif**, **Mono** |
| **Size** | **Small** (16), **Medium** (24), **Large** (40), **Extra large** (64), **Huge** (96), or type a size from 8 to 512 |
| **Alignment** | Left, center or right |
| **Bold**, **Italic**, **Underline**, **Strikethrough** | Style the text |
| **Bullet list** | Turn lines into a bulleted list |
| **Link** | Add a link (type or paste the address, press Enter) |

## Resize a note

1. Select the note.
2. Drag any of its four corners. Width and height change independently.
3. Hold **Shift** while dragging to keep the proportions.

A note cannot be smaller than 80 by 80 pixels. If the text no longer fits, the note grows taller on its own to show all of it.

## Add notes next to each other

When a note is selected, small handles appear on its sides. Click one to create a new note right next to the current one, on that side.

### Who can add sticky notes

Owner and Can edit members. Can review and Can view members do not see the Sticky note tool.

Good to know:
- Copying, pasting or duplicating a note keeps its color. New notes from the toolbar always start yellow.
- Duplicate with **Cmd/Ctrl + D**.
- The bar only appears when exactly one note is selected.
- On phones (screens under 640 pixels wide) the canvas is view-only, so notes cannot be added or resized there.
