# Log in and log out of Pactto

> Log in at live.pactto.com/login with Google or with your email and password; log out from the account menu on the Your Rooms page.

## Log in

1. Go to live.pactto.com/login. The page says **Good to see you again.**
2. Choose one way to log in:
   - Click **Sign in with Google** and pick your Google account, or
   - Enter your email in **E-mail:** and your password in **Password:**, then click **Log in using email**.
3. Pactto takes you to **Your Rooms**. If you were trying to open a specific room or page before logging in, you go back to that page instead.

If you open a room link while logged out, you can also log in right on the room's join screen, without going to the login page first. See [Join a room and the waiting room](https://www.pactto.com/help/waiting-room.md).

## Log out

Logging out happens from the **Your Rooms** page (the rooms list):

1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner to open the **Account menu**.
2. Click **Log out** at the bottom of the menu.

If you are inside a room, leave the room first to get back to **Your Rooms**.

## If something goes wrong

- **"Incorrect username or password."**: check the email and password. If you forgot the password, click **Reset it.** next to **Forgot your password?**. See [Reset your password](https://www.pactto.com/help/reset-password.md).
- **"Email and password are required."**: one of the fields is empty.
- **"Failed to sign in with Google"**: the Google step did not complete. Try again, and allow the Google window if your browser blocked it.
- **No account yet?** Click **Register.** next to **Don't have an account?**. See [Create a Pactto account](https://www.pactto.com/help/create-account.md).

## Good to know

- Pactto keeps you logged in on that browser until you log out or your session expires. If it expires, Pactto sends you to the login page and brings you back to the page you were on after you log in.
- Signing in with Google and signing in with email reach the same account when the email address is the same.
