# Plans, upgrading and plan limits > Pactto has a Free plan and a Pro plan; when you hit a plan limit (rooms, storage, editors per room) Pactto tells you which one and whose plan sets it, and you can upgrade from Billing & subscription. Each plan sets limits such as how many rooms you can own, how much storage you have, the largest file you can upload and how many people can have **Can edit** in a room. Some features are part of Pro only, for example session links for guests ([Let people join without an account](https://www.pactto.com/help/guest-link.md)), API keys for the Pactto CLI and connecting AI assistants through the MCP server. Features marked with a **Pro** badge open the plans dialog when clicked. Current plan details and prices are shown in the app and on the Pactto pricing page. ## Upgrade or change your plan 1. On **Your Rooms**, click your avatar and open **Billing & subscription**. 2. Click **Change plan**. The dialog is called **Upgrade your plan** on the free plan and **Change your plan** on a paid plan. 3. Choose **Monthly** or **Yearly** billing. 4. Click **Upgrade to Pro**. Checkout opens in a new tab. 5. Finish the payment. The dialog shows **Waiting for your payment** and updates by itself once the payment clears. If your browser blocks the new tab, the dialog says **Your browser blocked the checkout tab**; nothing was charged, so open the checkout page again from there. ## Cancel or downgrade - In **Billing & subscription**, click **Cancel plan**, or open the plans dialog and click **Downgrade** on the Free plan, then confirm with **Downgrade to Free**. - The confirmation lists **WHAT YOU LOSE**. You keep Pro until the end of the current billing period; nothing changes before then. - Changed your mind? Click **Undo cancellation** in **Billing & subscription** before that date. ## When you hit a limit Pactto tells you which limit you reached and whose plan sets it. The plan that counts is the **room owner's** plan, not the plan of the person using the room. - **Rooms**: on **Your Rooms**, a banner such as **"You've used all N rooms included in the plan"** appears. Upgrade to Pro for more rooms, or delete a room to free up a slot. - **Storage**: **Storage limit reached** ("You've reached your storage limit. Upgrade to Pro to upload more files."). In someone else's room you see **Room storage limit reached**: ask the room owner to free up space or upgrade. - **Editors per room**: **Editor limit reached** when you try to give one more person **Can edit**.
