# Join a room as a guest

> Open the session link you received, enter your full name and email, click Request to join, and wait for the host to admit you; no Pactto account needed.

## Join with a session link

If the host sent you a session link, you can join their room without creating a Pactto account.

1. Open the link in a supported browser on a computer, tablet or phone. You see **You're joining <room name>.**
2. Enter your **Full name** and **Email**.
3. Optional: set up your camera and microphone on the right side of the screen. You can turn them on or off with the buttons under the preview, and pick devices from the lists below it. See [Allow camera and microphone access](https://www.pactto.com/help/camera-microphone-permissions.md).
4. Click **Request to join**.
5. While you wait, Pactto shows **Waiting for host approval**.
6. When the host admits you, the room opens.

You join with **Can view** access: you can look around the canvas, play videos and take part in the call. The host can give you more access.

### If your email already has a Pactto account

If you enter an email that belongs to a Pactto account, Pactto asks for your **Password** and the button changes to **Log in to join**. Enter your password, or click **Use a different email**. You can also click **Sign in with Google**.

If you are already logged in to Pactto in that browser, Pactto skips the form and shows **Joining the room…**.

## If something goes wrong

- **"This guest link is invalid or has expired."**: the session has ended or its 24 hours are over. Ask the host for a new link.
- **"Your request to join the room was rejected."**: the host declined your request. Click **OK**.
- **"Incorrect password. Please try again."**: the password for your Pactto account is wrong. Use [Reset a forgotten password](https://www.pactto.com/help/reset-password.md) if needed.
- **"This room has reached the 20 participants limit. Try again later."**: the room is full right now. Try again when someone leaves.
- **No camera or microphone detected**: you can click **Continue without devices** to join as an observer (view and listen only), or connect a device and click **Try again**.

## When you leave

When you click **Leave room** as a guest, Pactto signs you out and takes you to the Register page, where you can create a free account with the same email.

## Good to know

- Session access lasts up to 24 hours. When the host ends the session, guests are removed from the room and the link stops working.
- To keep coming back to a room, create an account with the same email. See [Create a Pactto account](https://www.pactto.com/help/create-account.md).
