# Invite people to a room > Open the room's Share dialog, type one or more email addresses, choose a role in Invite as, and click Invite; Pactto emails each person a link to the room. Category: Account and access Web page: https://www.pactto.com/help/invite-people All guides: https://www.pactto.com/help.md ## Invite people by email Inviting someone by email makes them a member of the room with the role you choose. They can come back to the room any time, without waiting for approval. **Who can invite:** the room owner and people with **Can edit**. People with **Can review** or **Can view** can open the Share dialog and see the member list, but the email field is disabled for them. 1. Open the **Share room** dialog: - Inside the room, click **Share** in the top bar, or - On **Your Rooms**, click the **Add participant** (+) button in the room's **In Room** column. 2. Under **Invite people**, type one or more email addresses, separated by commas. 3. Choose the role in **Invite as**: **Can edit**, **Can review** or **Can view**. The default is **Can review**. This option appears once you have typed a valid email. See [Room roles and permissions](https://www.pactto.com/help/roles-and-permissions.md). 4. Click **Invite**. 5. A message confirms how many people were invited (for example **Invited 2 Persons**). Each person appears in **Room members** while the invitation is sent. Pactto emails each person an invitation. People who already have a Pactto account follow the link to the room, logging in first if needed. People without an account are taken to sign up with their email already filled in; after they confirm the code Pactto emails them, they go to the room. ## Copy the room link If your account shows a **Copy link** button at the top of the **Share room** dialog, click it to copy the room's address. Anyone who opens that link identifies themselves on the room's join screen (name and email, or a log-in) and asks to join. They enter with **Can view** once the owner or an editor admits them. See [Let people join without an account](https://www.pactto.com/help/guest-link.md). ## If something goes wrong - **" is already in the room"** or **"Already in the room: ..."**: that person is already a member. Their row is highlighted in the member list. - **"Please enter a valid email: ..."**: fix the address shown. - **"This room has reached its maximum capacity of 99 participants. To invite new people, remove someone first."**: the room has 99 members. Remove someone before inviting. - **"You have reached the 20 participants limit"**: 20 people are in the room right now, which is the most that can be connected at the same time. Try again when someone leaves. See [Room capacity](https://www.pactto.com/help/room-capacity.md). - **"Could not copy the link. Copy it from the address bar instead."**: your browser blocked the clipboard. Copy the address from the browser's address bar. - If some invitations fail, Pactto shows an error message with the reason for each group of addresses. ## Good to know - Your plan may limit how many people can have **Can edit** in a room. If you reach that limit, Pactto tells you when you try to give someone edit access. - The member list shows each person's name and email, with **Owner** next to the room creator.
