# Get started with Pactto

> Create a room, invite people, add your files, organize them into boards, present, and collect feedback with comments and review statuses.

## How Pactto works

Pactto is built around rooms. A room is a lasting space for one project or client: it holds a shared canvas with your files, a video call, chat, comments, and transcripts of the meetings held in it. Everything stays in the room between meetings, so the next session starts where the last one ended.

## The usual flow

1. **Create an account.** Sign up at live.pactto.com with Google or an email address. See [Create a Pactto account](https://www.pactto.com/help/create-account.md).
2. **Create a room.** On the **Your rooms** page, click **Create new room** and give it a name. See [Create a room](https://www.pactto.com/help/create-a-room.md).
3. **Invite people.** Open the room's **Share** dialog, add email addresses, and choose their role (**Can edit**, **Can review**, or **Can view**). 4. **Add your files.** Click **Add asset** in the toolbar (or press **1**) to upload images, videos, and PDFs, or drag files onto the canvas. You can also import from Google Drive or Adobe Frame.io, or create a Pactto Doc or a table. See [Add assets to a room](https://www.pactto.com/help/add-assets.md).
5. **Organize them into boards.** A board is a named container on the canvas, and it is also your presentation deck. See [Create a board](https://www.pactto.com/help/boards.md).
6. **Present.** Select a board and click the play button, then turn on **Spotlight me** so everyone follows. See [Present in a room](https://www.pactto.com/help/present.md).
7. **Collect feedback.** Leave comments on any item, including a moment in a video or a page in a PDF, and set review statuses such as **Needs changes** or **Approved**. See [Comments](https://www.pactto.com/help/comments.md) and [Review statuses](https://www.pactto.com/help/review-status.md).

## Good to know

- People can work in a room without a meeting running: comments, files, and statuses are there whenever someone opens it.
- AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT can read and write your rooms through the Pactto MCP server. See [Connect an AI assistant](https://www.pactto.com/help/connect-ai-assistant-mcp.md).

- [Leave feedback with comments](https://www.pactto.com/help/comments.md): Click the Comment tool (or press K), then click an item or an empty spot on the canvas, type your feedback, and press Enter to post it.
- [Set a review status on an item](https://www.pactto.com/help/review-status.md): Select a video, image, PDF, Pactto Doc, or board and pick a status (Draft, In progress, Needs review, Needs changes, Approved, or your own) from the status menu in its title bar.
