# Choose your camera, microphone, and speakers

> Open Device settings on Your rooms, or Device options next to the microphone button inside a room, pick your devices, and click Save.

## Device settings

The **Device settings** panel lets you pick which camera, microphone, and speakers Pactto uses, mirror your own video, and change your name and photo (see [Change your name and photo](https://www.pactto.com/help/change-name-and-photo.md)).

### Open the panel

- **Before a meeting**: on **Your rooms**, click **Device settings** at the top right.
- **During a meeting**: click **Device options**, the small arrow right next to the microphone button at the top right of the room.

### Change your devices

1. Check the camera preview at the top. Check **Mirror my camera** if you want your own video flipped like a mirror. This only changes how you see yourself.
2. In **Display name**, change the name others see, if you want.
3. Under **Camera**, pick a camera.
4. Under **Microphone**, pick a microphone.
5. Under **Speakers**, pick where meeting audio plays.
6. Click **Save**. Click **Cancel** (or the X) to close without changes.

Your choices are saved and apply across all your rooms.

### If something goes wrong

- **Could not switch camera. You are still on the previous one.** (or the same message for the microphone): the new device could not start. Check that no other app is using it and try again.
- **Failed to save. Please try again.**: the settings were not saved.
- **Your profile does not allow changing your name.**: your account cannot change its display name.

### Good to know

- **Speakers** does not appear in Safari. In browsers that cannot switch audio output, the field reads **Uses system default output (browser limitation)**. If no output devices are found, it reads **No output devices found**.
- If you plugged in a camera or microphone after joining, opening this panel detects it. Select it and save; you do not need to reload the room.
- Guests are asked for a name and an email before they can save and close the panel.
